General Assembly (GA) of U-3ARC, 4th since the creation of this pan-African instance, is being held this year in Tunis, on November 7, 8 and 9, 2024. The theme, which will be "Refrigeration unites Africa for its development", will undoubtedly allow U-3ARC to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the continent.

At the last GA, held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, one year ago to the day, the Ugandan association, in competition with its Tunisian counterpart for the organization, withdrew to allow the ATRC (Tunisian Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) to host the meeting. Should we recall that the U-3ARC General Assembly offers a unique opportunity to unite the players in the refrigeration sector in Africa and to define an ambitious roadmap for the years to come? Beyond examining the accounts and presenting the moral and financial results, it will be an opportunity to address different areas, after an official opening that promises to be very grand.
From food security and the cold chain, via the strengthening of cold infrastructure, to the training of cold chain players or the promotion of innovative technologies, to considerations on energy and the environment (energy transition, energy efficiency, etc.), through health and well-being (heat-sensitive vaccines, food preservation, pharmaceutical industry, etc.), industry and economic development, governance and regulation (harmonization of standards, import supervision, financing)... Tunis General Assembly, which will see the election of a new President at the head of U-3ARC and the new Executive Board, will be decisive.
Strengthening cooperation through RAC sector
Punctuated by several sessions, including partners ones, Committee for the Election of a President and a new Executive Board, a gala dinner with Awards and Certificates, field and tourist visits, 2024 GA will be preceded, on November 6, by a special day, called "Pan-African meeting to promote synergy in the RAC sector". The ATRC (Tunisian Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) is scheduling, during this day, meetings between Tunisian stakeholders and delegations from the rest of the continent, including Uganda, Algeria, the DRC, Mali, Morocco, Senegal, Nigeria, etc. for more synergy in the sector.
Let us bet that, in accordance with the theme, regional integration to strengthen cooperation between African countries, in order to promote trade and experience exchanges, will not be left out, as well as the role of women in the refrigeration sector, or the digitalization of the cold chain, the impact of the introduction of new eco-responsible refrigerants, but unfortunately flammable...
