Dr CHARITY KPABEP AWARDS 2025 – READY, SET, GO!

The Dr Charity Kpabep Awards 2025, organized by U-3ARC in collaboration with the NGO World Refrigeration Day, is officially underway! This competition, dedicated to African women active in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector, aims to promote female participation in RAC and highlight the technical expertise of African women in this male-dominated field. Dr CHARITY KPABEP AWARDS 2025 – READY, SET, GO!

A joint initiative by the Union of Associations of African Actors in Refrigeration and air Conditioning (U-3ARC) and World Refrigeration Day, the Dr Charity Kpabep Awards have even inspired similar international prizes. The 2025 edition opens on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, continuing its mission to reward women in RAC and elevate the technical contributions of women in this strategically vital sector.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Promote women’s participation in the RAC sector.

Highlight the technical knowledge of African women.

Foster collaboration and skill-sharing among participants.

Showcase acquired competencies: teamwork, communication, etc.

Strengthen connections between African women and the diaspora.

Reduce language barriers.

ELIGIBILITY

The Dr Charity Kpabep Award 2025 is exclusively open to African women actively working in the RAC sector. Participants must submit:

A video recording (MP4 or equivalent) of a collaborative technical discussion between four women from different countries.

A written explanatory report in PDF format.

2025 COMPETITION THEME

This year’s theme focuses on the operational principles of four distinct refrigeration or air conditioning systems. Examples include:

Cold storage rooms

Freezing tunnels

Ice production units

Refrigerated display cases

Heat pumps

VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) systems

Multi-split air conditioning systems

Teams must divide tasks so that each member presents one system in their chosen language.

HOW AND WHEN TO APPLY

Submission opens: April 15, 2025

Deadline: May 31, 2025 (midnight GMT)

Submission platform: Upload your video to the U-3ARC Facebook page or the U-3ARC – LADIES TEAM Facebook group.

PRIZES

A jury composed of U-3ARC Executive Board members and U-3ARC Training Committee experts will announce results during the World Refrigeration Day (WRD) celebrations. Winners will receive:

A certificate of recognition for each team member.

A €2,000 prize awarded during the 2025 U-3ARC General Assembly.

Full sponsorship (round-trip flights to Ouagadougou, accommodation, and meals).
